The Study Abroad Office hosts a mandatory Pre-Departure Conference to help you prepare for your experience abroad. Details are on your online application page. All students, except those enrolled in Faculty-Led and Honors programs, are required to attend. (Faculty-Led and Honors program students will attend a separate pre-departure meeting.)*
*The April 2020 Pre-Departure Conference has been cancelled and Pre-Departure Orientation will be held virtually instead. More information is forthcoming.
Pre-Departure orientation for Fall and Academic Year 2020 Study Abroad Programs:
Pre-Departure Orientation consists of different components designed to deliver pertinent information regarding your program, as well as give you the flexibility to explore topics of interest.*
Campus Resources: Students will receive contact information for various campus resources that may be useful for their experience abroad.
Regional Meeting: A Zoom meeting will be scheduled to allow you to virtually meet students going to your program, country, and/or region, and pick up tips and skills specific to your destination.
* You will receive a copy of the Pre-Departure Orientation schedule in advance, noting your specific attendance time and a link to join the meeting virtually.
Special Interest Series | Open to All
Attend online sessions offered on a variety of topics presented by Study Abroad Office staff, campus representatives, and Study Abroad Peer Ambassadors and other returned students. The series is open to any and all students, those attending study abroad programs or interested in other global opportunities. Receive information about the following topics:
- Health & Safety, & Credit Transfer
- Logistics such as budgeting, packing, & travel
- Diversity & Identity Abroad
