Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I was admitted into the Global Launch Program and indicated the location of Granda, Spain as my preferred location on my application. Studying abroad in Spain particularly interested me because of the potential to improve my Spanish speaking skills and immerse myself in the captivating culture that Spain has to offer.

What did you learn about yourself?
My experience abroad that me that I am able to easily adapt to new situations and environments. Being abroad often presents you with new experiences and challenges, pushing you out of your comfort zone and causing you to adapt and grow as a person.

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
One of my favorite program excursions was to Cadiz, Spain. Here, we spent hours playing beach volleyball and tennis just taking in the beautiful environment around us and enjoying our time with one another. It was the best weekend getaway and such a rejuvenating trip due to our close proximity to the beach. In terms of individually planned excursions, one of my favorite memories has to be exploring the Christmas markets in various cities including Vienna, Budapest, and Paris. I was lucky enough to visit these three cities during my time abroad and experience the classic European Christmas markets. In Vienna, I purchased a sleigh Christmas ornament to add to my family Christmas tree back at home, in Budapest I purchased a delicious Chimney Cake, and in Paris enjoyed a classic Parisian Nutella crepe. In all three of these cities, I loved taking in the ambiance, including the hustle and bustle of the people and the crisp, cold weather surrounding the captivating markets.

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
Get out of your comfort zone, whether that means practicing a language you don't feel entirely comfortable with, meeting new people, or exploring unknown places. Travel and experience adventures with an open mind!
