Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I wanted to have

What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I have to push the boundaries of my comfort zone to get what I want out of life. Knowing that I had a limited amount of time abroad made me take advantage of every opportunity I had. I did not want to regret anything when I returned to the states. Taking more chances made me realize that I can continue this practice back at home. I tend to be too cautious when making decisions, but studying abroad taught me that I have a limited time on earth and I need to take advantage of new experiences.

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
Hiking Roy's Peak to watch the sunrise

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
As a student that experienced the Coronavirus crisis while abroad, uncertainties are my specialty. They are inevitable. Just know that there are resources available to help you when uncertainties arise. The study abroad office at UNC is there to help throughout your experience and after you return. In addition, your host school will have resources specifically for international students. Basically, you're not alone in dealing with uncertainties.
