Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I began studying German as my foreign language, and I really enjoyed learning the language. The German department is absolutely amazing, and they inspired me to want to go abroad to Germany. I always wanted to study abroad, but I never knew where until speaking with some of my German professors.

What did you learn about yourself?
I learned so much about what makes me feel confident. The exposure to a new city with different cultures and people helped me discover a new side of myself. Everyone in Berlin was so accepting of everything and everyone, and I felt so welcomed into the city. I also loved the streetwear style they had, and I definitely adopted that style too.

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
Honestly, it is so hard to pick just one. I really enjoyed all the memories I made going to all the different parks with my friends! Berlin had some of the most gorgeous parks, and we would go watch the sunsets or have a picnic.

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
It can be tough going abroad because you are away from friends and family, but believe me when I say you will make the most unforgettable memories! You will make friends through the program and in your surrounding area. I made friends at clubs and coffee shops! It also is kind of freeing being by yourself sometimes. I actually did not feel as home sick as I though I would.
