Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I chose to study abroad because I wanted to experience living in a different area of the world and culture. I also wanted to improve my Spanish skills and travel to unique places in the world that I had not yet visited.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned how self-reliant I am and gained confidence in my ability to navigate most anything. I also learned how to be open to new experiences and new friends.
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
Doing a beach tennis lesson in Cadiz that turned into a program wide volleyball game. It was so fun to learn more about the two sports and to have that bonding experience with everyone in our program.
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
Talk to the other people in your program! Chances are that they may be feeling the same way. Studying abroad is an amazing experience, but it can definitely feel daunting at times. You will get the most out of your experience if you have very few pre-established expectations and experience new things as opportunities arise.
