Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I have always wanted to explore new places, meet new people and learn new languages. I selected my program through UNC because it was the one being offered at the time.
What did you learn about yourself?
I am stronger and more independent than I originally thought. I have a very close relationship with my family and friends so the thought of leaving them for 3-4 months terrified me, but I would not have traded the experience I ended up having while abroad for anything.
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
Traveling to other places with the entire group and the FOOD!!!
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
Think on a bigger scale. The homesickness or cultural shock is just a tiny moment is the grand scheme of the experiences you will have and things you will learn while being abroad.
