Tuition, Billing & Fees

All students need to become familiar with their student account in ConnectCarolina and students will be billed according to their program type.

Billing by Program Type

Exchange Student

As an incoming exchange student, you will not be charged tuition and fees to attend UNC-Chapel Hill by our university. Instead, you will pay the tuition and fees you normally pay directly to your home university.

Billing for on-campus accommodation will occur via your student account in ConnectCarolina. Payment for off-campus accommodation will be paid directly to the housing provider.

Global Visiting Student

Global Visiting Student Program students will pay their tuition directly to UNC-Chapel Hill. Students will receive instructions prior to arrival regarding how to pay all necessary bills via ConnectCarolina.

Billing for on-campus accommodation will occur via your student account in ConnectCarolina. Payment for off-campus accommodation will be paid directly to the housing provider.

Miscellaneous Billing and Fees

During your time at UNC-Chapel Hill, other activities may incur additional fees, such as:

Purchasing a prescription from Campus Health
Borrowing a book from the library and not returning it by the due date
On-campus meal plans
Health Insurance, Medical Care, and Immunizations

In the event that you are charged fees during your time at UNC-Chapel Hill, they will likely be charged to your student account in ConnectCarolina.

Making Payments

Payments will be made through your UNC Student Account in ConnectCarolina. You can review and pay these fees under the “Finances” tab in ConnectCarolina.
