Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I chose to study abroad at Korea University because I liked their course offerings and I have always been interested in Korean culture. Growing up, my best friend was Korean so from a young age I've always wanted to visit someday.

What did you learn about yourself?
I've never traveled abroad by myself so I was a little nervous at first but I learned through this experience that it's also nice to travel by yourself sometimes and explore the city alone. I also learned that I adapt well to new experiences and I hope to go abroad more often in the future.

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
I have so many wonderful memories through this program but my favorite memory was celebrating my 20th birthday with my friends in South Korea. I also enjoyed visiting many Korean historical sites like the palaces.

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
When I went abroad, Korea was mandating a 14-day quarantine process because of COVID-19. I was very intimidated by the process but it all turned out alright. To study abroad, you really need to step out of your comfort zone more but the experience is totally worth the hassles. My best advice would be to just plan ahead and more likely than not, everything will be ok.
