Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I had never been to Europe before, and I figured that jumping right in with study abroad would be the best way to experience it - also, I had heard from SO many adults that their biggest regret was never studying abroad. My program was given to me during acceptance to UNC 🙂
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned to live in the moment - the European lifestyle (Spanish specifically) taught me to take my life day by day, to not rush to small things, and to take it all in
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
Being sick, and going to the doctors with my host mom, a woman who didn't speak my language and barely knew me (at the time) yet loved me like her own.
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
It will go by in the blink of an eye and before you know it, you will be itching to be back in the city that will become your second home.
