Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I wanted to study abroad ever since I arrived at UNC Chapel Hill. There are so many options for exchange programs, but I ended up choosing Trinity College Dublin because of their English Literature Department and my fondness for Irish literature.

What did you learn about yourself?
I’m a fairly introverted person — I learned how to meet new people and make lasting friendships outside of my comfort zone.

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
In Ireland, my favorite memory is definitely Paddy’s day. Travel-wise, I road-tripped the Southern Coast of Iceland with a friend for eight days…in February! It was very different from winters in North Carolina.

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
It sounds scary, but it’s entirely worth it! It will be an experience you’re able to look back on for years to come — you won’t regret it! My advise is to think about all of the new things you will learn and people you will meet — travel teaches you something that nothing else can.
