Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I chose to study abroad because I was seeking unique on the ground experience in my field of interest. Additionally, I was seeking to further develop my knowledge and my relationship with my professor.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned I am capable of solving problems on my own, and I gained significant independence through this program that I don't think you can achieve from just being in college. After my program, I feel like I know myself better than I ever have before.
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
My favorite memory from my program was exploring Berlin with my friends from my program and interacting with locals and learning about their experiences living in Berlin. It was also so cool to be in Berlin during the Euros! My friends and I went to the Fan Zone for many of the games and enjoyed immersing ourselves in the futbol culture!
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
I would tell students facing uncertainties while abroad that this is part of the experience, to lean into the discomfort and look to one another for support. No one understands your circumstance better than the other people going through the same things.
