Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I wanted to fully immerse myself in Spanish and it was a big draw for me to attend UNC due to the opportunity to study abroad before I even began classes on campus.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I am much more capable of doing difficult things by myself and that I am more free-spirited/capable of spontaneity than I previously thought.
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
I absolutely loved connecting with my host family and making native-Spanish-speaker friends; it was such a joy to obtain fluency and learn the nuances of the Spanish language.
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
Commit to the problem head on and don't be afraid to ask for help or think outside of the box
