Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I felt that I could learn valuable information about businesses in a new country. I selected this program specifically as I was fascinated by what New Zealand had to offer.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I am willing to try new experiences and push my comfort zone as life is short and opportunities move fast.
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
One of my favorite memories from the program was going to Te Pa Tu with the group and spending time with the Māori. Getting to bond with my peers will be a core memory.
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
Just live in the moment and enjoy your time there as you may not get many more chances.
How do you identify?
Scholarship Recipient, Transfer Student
Could you share any experiences where your identity played a role in your time abroad?
My role as a transfer student helped me acclimate to meeting a whole new group of people easily as I had prior experience when coming to UNC
Is there any advice you would give to other students who share your identity?
Be willing and open to meeting new people and you will find a lot of unexpected friendships and connections.
