Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I decided to study abroad to immerse myself in a culture and to meet new people along the way! It can be easy to get into habits and do the same things on campus, so I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone!
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that it's okay to do what is best for yourself even if that means doing it alone. I became a lot more comfortable with doing things, like eating dinner alone, that I would have never done before! It was truly an experience that allowed me to find what makes me happy.
What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
Sprinting to the Duomo and screaming at the top of our lungs at 6am after beating Duke in the Final Four!!!
What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
Persevere through the discomfort at the beginning and make sure to put yourself out there!! You will meet the best people in unexpected places.
