Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I always knew I wanted to study abroad during college and was fortunate enough to find a program still running during COVID-19 that allowed me to stay on track to graduate while allowing me to immerse myself in a totally different culture.

What did you learn about yourself?
I learned how to adapt to a new environment and gained more independence while trying to navigate a foreign place while dealing with the language barrier.

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
One of my favorite memories was hiking Mount Sinai on Easter morning! We started our trek at midnight so we could reach the summit in time to watch the sunrise.

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
If you're ever uncertain, there is a great network of support here at UNC and at your host university including staff, professors, and students that is well equipped to help you throughout the entire process of transitioning there, studying abroad, and coming back.

How do you identify?
Student of color, First Generation College Student, Rural County Resident
