Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you select your program?
I chose to study abroad so that I could immerse myself in the culture, experience, and schooling of an entirely new country! When I was choosing programs, my mind was all over the place because of all of my options! However, I selected Copenhagen for its beautiful city, weather, and people.

What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that it’s okay to be uncomfortable in new situations. Obviously going abroad alone is going to push you out of your comfort zone, nonetheless with a worldwide pandemic going on!

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?
My favorite memory from my program was one of the very first weeks. I had just met all of the other exchange students, and one of them had a birthday the following week. Normally the program has about 55 students, however with COVID, ours was reduced to 8. I ended up becoming best friends with them and we celebrated Anita’s birthday by taking a boat out and cruising along Copenhagen’s canals.

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?
My greatest advice would to be open to these uncertainties and situations. You never know what will happen and sometimes, missing the metro on your way to class may end up in you meeting a new best friend.
