Lost in Translation, Gained in Experience – A Night of Global Storytelling

Global Circle, an initiative of the Campus Y, in partnership with UNC Study Abroad invites you to “Lost in Translation, Gained in Experience – A Night of Study Abroad Storytelling” Thursday, February 13 from 7:30-9 pm in the Anne Queen Lounge of the Campus Y.
This event will be an open mic night where students can share their global experiences and put their memories and lessons learned into words. We welcome any global experience including a gap year, study abroad and personal travel. Traveling abroad and spending extended periods of time immersed in different cultures provides such contrasts with our everyday lives and such an interesting insight into life. The unfamiliarity of these new and exciting situations can however be rather difficult to process. The aim of “Lost in Translation, Gained in Experience”, is to provide an opportunity to share via poem or story telling with others and process these experiences yourself. We ask that performers keep their remarks to 3-5 minutes.
