Peace, War, and Defense encourages students to study abroad, especially if they do so in the language of the host country. Students can contact the the Department Reviewer (Prof. Navin Bapat) prior to registering for courses abroad to see if they are likely to be transferable to the PWAD major credit, although formal approval is only granted after the student returns. No courses taken abroad can be substituted for the three core courses required for the major. Language course requirements for the PWAD Major must be reviewed and approved by a language department.
